The Juno Awards have announced a change of date for their 50th anniversary celebrations, moving the annual event from May to June.

"Out of an abundance of caution in response to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and its partners, including CBC and Insight Productions, have made the decision to move the 50th Anniversary JUNO Awards in Toronto to June," organizers shared in a statement.

The 2021 Juno Awards were initially slated to take place in March and later May 16, but they will now take place June 6. The awards show will be broadcast nationwide from Toronto through CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos.

Further information on performers, presenters and JUNO Week virtual events will be announced in the coming weeks. Revisit the complete list of 2021 Juno Awards nominees.

Earlier this month, the Juno Awards' golden anniversary was marked with a new postage stamp.
