The Golden Age of Wrestling Announces New Album 'Scorpion Deathlock,' Shares "The Chauffer"

It's the follow-up to 2022's 'Crossface Chicken Wing'

Vancouver shapeshifter Jeff Cancade is bracing for impact: the singer-songwriter has announced his third album as the Golden Age of Wrestling, led by the broodingly cinematic new single "The Chauffeur."

Scorpion Deathlock takes hold on January 19 via INTRASET. It follows last year's Crossface Chicken Wing and 2020's Tombstone Piledriver. Cancade took a DIY approach, writing, recording and producing Scorpion Deathlock over the winter before handing it off to Brock McFarlane for mastering.

"It offers a glimpse into the lives of a disparate group of strangers, overcoming stages of grief and searching for a new beginning," the artist said of the album's narrative, which is brought to life in the self-directed video for lead single "The Chauffer."

Of the video, Cancade added, "It is the visual centrepiece for the album, and ties together the theme of strangers all arriving at a similar point in their lives where they are contemplating what lies before them, tempted to make huge changes but feeling tentative after suffering from recent loss. Will they drive themselves towards a better life, or will they let the Chauffeur guide them blindly?"

Dive face-first into the atmospheric world of "The Chauffer" below, where you'll also find the record's tracklist.
