Reports recently broke that Taylor Swift has split from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn, her occasional songwriting collaborator, frequent muse and rumoured fiancé. Predictably, some Swifties are taking the news rather hard, and Swift's one-time New York home on Cornelia Street has become something of a pilgrimage site, with mourning fans leaving bouquets in apparent displays of grief.

Vulture spoke with several Swifties at the townhouse at 23 Cornelia Street in New York's West Village. That home, which Swift rented for a reported $38,000 per month while her Tribeca penthouse was being renovated, was, of course, the inspiration for 2019's "Cornelia Street" — one of her best songs, which was inspired by her budding relationship with Alwyn.

One 14-year-old told Vulture that she "cried for a couple of hours," spent the whole day in her room, and even threw up. "It made me believe that love wasn't real anymore," she said. Bouquets were left by fans looking to "pay [their] respects," as one 16-year-old Swiftie put it.

A sanitation worker in the area confirmed that the house has been busier and dirtier than usual in recent days. He's leaving the flowers where they're placed, however.
