Montreal's Sonic Avenues are set to show us their Mistakes, the band's second full-length for Dirtnap Records, on April 15. Before you can pick up a copy in stores, though, Exclaim.ca is previewing the fuzzy power-pop platter with a full-length stream.
As previously reported, the album was tracked in band member Max Desharnais' apartment and is described as being "an evolved and considerably more varied effort" than 2012's Television Youth. The group still kick into high-gear on accelerated garage freak-outs "Tired, Bored and Alone" and "Teenage Brain," lacing in distorted vocals harmonies around just as dirty guitar hooks, but simmer down a bit for the comparatively tamer power-pop jangle of "Better Days to Come" or clap-happy production touches and shimmering six-strings on "In Your Head."
