Banjo-toting BC folkies Shred Kelly have announced a new album. Blurry Vision is out October 20, and the band have shared a video for the new single "Nothing for a While," along with a pile of summer and fall tour dates.
Blurry Vision was recorded at the Farm Studios in Gibsons on BC's Sunshine Coast, with overdubs completed at Vancouver's Nyg Productions. Shred Kelly worked with producer Nygel Asselin, with mixing by Elisa Pangsaeng and mastering from Brock McFarlane.
The album includes prior single "Cracks in the Finish." New single "Nothing for a While" is a climactic, six-minute-long banjo rock epic, with a pensive video directed by the band along with Dylan Siggers. The band's Tim Newton said in a statement, "More than ever we are all hammered with information on a daily basis which shapes our political leaning, habits, and even our happiness. 'Nothing for a While' is about reclaiming our lives by shutting it all off and returning to a sense of self."
