Since making his full-length solo debut with Process in 2017, Sampha has appeared on albums by Kendrick Lamar, Mustafa, Alicia Keys and more. Now, it appears the artist will soon share details of a follow-up, if a short teaser is any indication.
On Instagram today, Sampha shared the video seen below captioned "Messages… Signals….," which stitches together photos and footage of himself and collaborators at work in the studio. At one point, you hear the artist ask, "Hello, is anyone out there?"
Sampha's latest tease follows a mention of new material upon the April launch of a limited vinyl repress of his 2013 EP Dual, set to celebrate its 10th anniversary next month. In sharing that news, he wrote, "Once again thank you for those who are still listening..New music is loading.. i appreciate the patience."
Process earned Sampha the 2017 Mercury Prize, awarded annually to the UK's best album as voted by an independent panel of judges. The album was voted among Exclaim!'s Best Soul and R&B Albums of 2017.
