Indian-American singer-songwriter Raveena has revealed allegations of a "devastating" experience amid the current tour in support of her latest album Asha's Awakening. The artist says she was very recently a victim of sexual assault, and is asking fans to respect her "personal space" as she completes a handful of remaining scheduled dates in Latin America.

"[I] was sexually assaulted a few days ago and it's been some of the most devastating and heartbreaking times I've had in a really long time," Raveena wrote on Twitter. "[I] would appreciate if u could respect my personal space as much as possible for the rest of tour while I find my sense of normalcy."

She added, "[I] don't wanna give that person the power to fuck with this beautiful moment for my career .. it's just a huge blessing to be able to tour internationally and I'm so excited to finish off the rest of the tour strong & with your love."

The singer-songwriter did not provide any further details about the attack or the perpetrator. As of right now, she still has upcoming performances in Argentina, Chile and Mexico this month. Asha's Awakening, her sophomore effort, is a concept album about a time-travelling Punjabi space princess.

As if the touring situation facing artists wasn't challenging enough financially or health-wise, musicians are also being subjected to violations of their bodies and possessions.
