Josh Homme has ended a terrific year for Queens of the Stone Age with this well-compiled collection of videos and concert footage from the band's colourful career. Over the Years is not just an ordinary concert film; it uses interwoven images, drugged-out visual effects and interviews from the band's different eras (including irreverent former bassist Nick Oliveri) to further the experience. The gig at London's Brixton Academy is a strong representation of the band's dynamic riff rock, complete with the front-man singling out an abusive "cocksmoker" in the front row, and cutting to an ill Homme explaining his mucous to a physician in a hotel room (from a previously cancelled UK tour). Selected live footage from each album is featured as a bonus (including Grohl during the Deaf shows), and let's not forget the live CD from the Brixton concert. (Interscope)
