Madlib Reveals Plans for New Quasimoto Album and Tour

BY Calum SlingerlandPublished Oct 25, 2016

Over a decade removed from releasing The Further Adventures of Lord Quas, Madlib's alter ego Quasimoto is set to return, letting listeners in on his musical plans for 2017.

Taking to Instagram late Monday night (October 24), Lord Quas revealed that both a new album and accompanying tour are in the works for next year. He made the announcement by drawing himself into the artwork for Eric B. and Rakim's 1988 album Follow the Leader, paying homage to the hip-hop duo who also announced their return over the weekend.

The last Quasimoto release arrived in the form of 2010's Yessir Whatever, a compilation of rarities and unreleased tracks released through Stones Throw. Madlib is set to be busy behind the boards, presumably already back at work his next collaborative effort with a free Freddie Gibbs.

Take a look at Quasimoto's announcement in the player below.
