Porno for Pyros Postpone Reunion Tour

The band was scheduled to begin their first stint on the road in 25 years this month but are pushing the dates back "a few months"

Porno for Pyros — the band Perry Farrell formed following the dissolution of Jane's Addiction in 1991 — were slated to embark on their reunion tour this fall, but the band have announced that the dates will be postponed as their new material is taking a little longer to write than they had thought it would.

"Whilst rehearsing for our first tour in 25 years, we've also been in the studio creating new music — that we were hoping to get to you in time for these shows," they wrote in the caption of an Instagram post sharing the news. "Unfortunately, we have had to move the dates for the upcoming tour as we were not able to begin our campaign in time."

The band continued, "So, we've pushed the tour a few months from now, in order for everyone to hear and appreciate the new material that is finally finished." They also promised the updated dates — as well as new music — could be expected in the coming weeks.

The postponement follows last year's ill-fated Jane's Addiction tour with Smashing Pumpkins, after Farrell's other band reunited with co-founding bassist Eric Avery. Guitarist Dave Navarro had to drop off the stint on the road due to long COVID, and the group's Eastern Canadian dates were scrapped because Farrell sustained an injury. This year, Josh Klinghoffer joined the lineup in Navarro's place.

Porno for Pyros started recording new music together over a year ago "at Johnny Depp's place" for some reason. They initially reunited in 2020 for the Lollapalooza livestream festival after having broken up in 1998.
