With POP Montreal coming up later this month, the organizers have shared more details about the 20th anniversary edition of the festival, including some changes to the lineup.
The festival, which runs September 22 to 26, now features a show from Islands (featuring opener Menno Versteeg of Hollerado), a live performance by the band Fanny following a screening of their documentary (with NOBRO serving as openers), a free concert from Thus Owls, and a free parade featuring Safia Nolin, Socalled, Rara Soley and more. Additionally, Tess Roby has replaced Melanie Venditti.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the appearances from Soccer Mommy and Pomme have been cancelled.
POP Montreal includes both virtual and in-person events. The previously announced lineup features Backxwash, Cadence Weapon, Suuns, Cakes da Killa, the Dears, the Besnard Lakes, Chiiild, Dorothea Paas, DijahSB and more. In addition to music, the festival offers Film POP (cinema), Art POP (visual mediums), Puces POP (crafts), POP Symposium (conferences) and Kids POP (family fun).
Tickets can be found at POP Montreal's website. The festival will require proof of vaccination to attend.
