After announcing the 40 long-listed albums, the Polaris Music Prize has now unveiled 2018's short list.

Made up of 10 finalists, the complete short list includes the likes of Daniel Caesar, Partner, Hubert Lenoir, Jeremy Dutcher, Weaves, U.S. Girls and more. You can find the full list below.

One artist from the group will be awarded the title of best Canadian album, in addition to a $50,000 cash prize. The nine runners-up will each receive $3,000.

The short list was selected by the same panel of industry professionals, journalists and music critics that chose the long list. The albums named to the lists are selected "solely on artistic merit, without consideration for genre or record sales."

The winner of the 2018 Polaris Music Prize will be chosen by a grand jury on the night of the prize's gala event. That will take place at the Carlu in Toronto on September 17.
