Prince Edward Island's Paper Lions have recently wrapped up a cross-Canada tour where they likely jumped from hook to hook towards many fans' hearts. On this EP, they combine the right amount of pop with enough let-yourself-go rocking notes. Though "Lost the War" is a somehow motivated lament and "Sweat it Out" pokes fun at the nine-to-five lifestyle, this foursome are ready to kick away whatever comes at them. It can be a little green though; Trophies rests a lot on backyard party territory and sometimes the hooks can be one too many. But as these Lions age, the wisdom and knowledge of their kingdom will become more real and at ease. Right now is a nice time to settle for dancing around on the grass.
