The Pains of Being Pure at Heart Book Spring North American Tour, Tease Third Album via New Trailer

BY Alex HudsonPublished Feb 24, 2014

Brooklyn indie-pop fuzz-mongers the Pains of Being Pure at Heart have been dropping hints about their upcoming third LP, and now their plans seem to be getting more concrete, since they've unveiled a new promo video (with a possible album title) and expanded their tour schedule.

In March, the band will team up with Eternal Summers for a U.S. tour surrounding SXSW. They will resume touring later in the spring for more North American dates; this latest leg is still coming together, but it includes gigs in Toronto and Vancouver, plus a number of U.S. shows. At least some of the dates are with Fear of Men and Ablebody.

Expect the gaps in the schedule to be fleshed out very soon; in the meantime, see the currently confirmed itinerary below.

Scroll past that to watch a minute-long trailer called "Art Smock." It's a shaky black and white clip that's filled with snowy imagery. The accompanying song is an uncharacteristically quiet acoustic ballad, and the trailer ends with the words Days of Abandon. There's no information beyond this, but we're guessing that's the new album title.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart's most recently album was 2011's Belong.

UPDATE: The full tour schedule is now below. Also, the band have confirmed that their next LP will be called Days of Abandon, which arrives on April 22 through Yebo.
