Get ready to scream, Canada - the Prince of Darkness will be upon us in no time.
Legendary heavy metal guru Ozzy Osbourne is gearing up to tour North America in support of his lauded tenth studio effort, Scream.
The month-long headlining arena tour will kick off on these shores on November 12 in Victoria, BC, winding its way across Canada before dipping into the United States, coming to a close on December 12 in Minneapolis, MN.
Maintaining the theme of heavy metal majesty, fellow luminary Rob Halford will open each date of the trek, part of a whopping 18-month tour. For those keeping tabs, this is the Ozzman's first trek here in approximately three years, when he was struggling to get copies of 2007's less-than-stellar outing, Black Rain, off store shelves.
Standard tickets will be available as of Friday, September 17 via Live Nation, but in keeping with recent concert tradition, Osbourne will offer a variety of special options to buyers as of Monday, September 13 at ten a.m. venue time.
The Ozzy Osbourne Meet & Greet Package (limited to 30 tickets per show, with a four-per-purchase cap) boasts seating within the first three rows of the stage, a personal photograph with Ozzy during a fan greeting, VIP access to the exclusive pre-concert party hosted by MC Big Dave "and a variety of Ozzy tour-related items."
A step below, the Ozzy Osbourne Possessed Party Package (available to the first 200 buyers, eight per buyer) includes seating within the first ten rows of the stage, VIP access to the exclusive pre-concert party hosted by MC Big Dave and the "variety of Ozzy tour-related items" previously alluded to.
The tour marks two notable additions to the Ozzy canon: the release of a free Ozzy iTunes application and the Scream Tour Edition double CD/double LP.
With Ozzy's app, fans gain access to up-to-date information, tour dates, his full discography, videos, photos, instant commenting and links to Osbourne's social networking sites. As for the expanded Scream, the CD offers seven bonus songs, featuring previously unreleased tracks and live recordings. A four-sided vinyl edition includes five: the three aforementioned unreleased songs, a live version of "Let Me Hear You Scream" and the single version of "Life Won't Wait."
