The 2023 edition of the International Indigenous Music Summit (IIMS) will take place at Toronto's TD Music Hall — the new 500-capacity performance space at Allied Music Centre — from May 31 to June 4. Themed "Generations Strong," the event seeks to honour the importance of acknowledging the accomplishments of the seven generations prior, as well as the promise of the seven generations to come.

With its first full in-person standalone event, the summit's daytime programming will feature elder talks, community roundtables, keynotes and master classes. Evening programming will showcase over 40 Indigenous musicians from around the world at TD Music Hall and other venues across the city.

The first-round announcement of artists slated to perform includes OMBIIGIZI, Elisapie, Miesha & the Spanks, Beatrice Deer, Wolf Castle, Drezus, Fawn Wood, Curtis Clear Sky and the Constellationz, Garret T. Willie, NIMKII & THE NINIIS, Quanah Style and Quique Escamilla.

IIMS is the only global event of its kind, devoted to sharing resources, creating opportunities and raising awareness for the Indigenous music community. Now in its fifth year, the event continues to be led by an elder advisory committee and remains steadfast in its commitment to centring Indigenous perspectives and experiences.

Anyone is welcome to attend, and registration is now open to the public. Tickets are currently on sale at early-bird rates.
