NOBRO Pledge to 'Set Your Pussy Free' on Debut Album, Share "Where My Girls At"

The album title was inspired by the US overturning of Roe v. Wade

After a few years of kicking up a ruckus on Canada's indie music scene, Montreal punks NOBRO have announced their debut album. Set Your Pussy Free arrives October 27 through Dine Alone Records, and the single "Where My Girls At" is out now.

The album title came from an on-stage comment that singer-bassist Kathryn McCaughey made during a US show the day after the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, removing the constitutional protection on abortions.

They wrote most of the album with Toronto producer Thomas D'Arcy (Yukon Blonde, the Sheepdogs), then linked up with Grammy-winning producer Dave Schiffman (PUP, Vampire Weekend, Smashing Pumpkins) at Montreal's Mixart Studios. The album was recorded live off the floor. They spent 12-hour days in the studio for weeks, with McCaughey still working full-time at a bar in the evenings.

Below, see a video for "Where My Girls At," along with Set Your Pussy Free's tracklist. The recent single "Let's Do Drugs" is also on the album. The LP can be pre-ordered here.
