After surprising listeners with two new albums this year, Nine Inch Nails have revealed a fall North American tour was also part of their 2020. As coronavirus has derailed those plans, the band are selling merch for their scrapped "Cold and Black and Infinite Tour" for charity.
In an Instagram post, Trent Reznor wrote that all profit raised from merch sales would be donated to local food banks in the cities they were set to visit on tour.
The "Cold and Black and Infinite Tour" would have featured support from Savages' Jehnny Beth, and included stops in Vancouver and Toronto. "We were excited," Reznor wrote. "I'm bumming myself out right now."
Reznor also offered an update of what he's been up to since the release of Ghosts VI: Locusts and Ghosts V: Together, while recommending a fan-made concert film from their first "Cold and Black and Infinite" run that you can find below.
"The current plan is to finish up some scoring projects, work on my limited patience skills, deep dive into new NIN material, and hopefully be playing music live for you in 2021," he wrote. "In the meantime… listen to Jehnny's record (comes out June 12), continue to listen to Bowie, and don't be too hard on yourself."
Nine Inch Nails are slated to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. Read our Essential Guide to Nine Inch Nails.
