Nico Fidenco

Black Emanuelle’s Groove

BY Jon BartlettPublished Aug 1, 1999

Those of you living in Quebec or New Brunswick may be familiar with the TVO’s popular Saturday nigh Blue Nuit program. If you are, you’ve no doubt encountered Emanuelle Nera, and have probably seen all of her. From that film series comes this collection of sleazy listening tracks by Italian composer Nico Fidenco, an eclectic mix featuring samba beats and fuzzy guitars, both fixtures in that era’s erotic film soundtracks. The occasional cheesy moans creep in (“Emanuelle in America Sweet”) but this is, for the most part, a strong 17-track compilation that’ll send you to sleep feeling hotter than the sun.
