Montreal's Nick Schofield and New York City's Alexia Avina are back with plans for their debut album as Best Fern. Earth Then Air arrives February 3 via Backward Music / Youngbloods.
Schofield and Avina recorded the album at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity, which provided the environment that "helped the duo create their most grounded work to date as they reached closer to earth than air for inspiration," according to press materials that further promise a "remarkably soothing experience, reminding the listener that we, too, can be soft and sure like pine and fir, supple like the wind around a mountain."
The ambient/dream pop duo are previewing the record today with lead single "On and On," which arrives alongside an 8mm-shot video by Stephanie Kuse. The track is the second to arrive from the album following last year's "Way Inside."
