Nick Cave is fleshing out his summer tour schedule with the Bad Seeds by announcing some exclusive screenings of his 20,000 Days on Earth pseudo-documentary, and best of all, these will be paired with a few intimate solo performances.
Following screenings of 20,000 Days on Earth, Cave will be performing solo shows in Los Angeles (July 10), Montreal (August 1) and New York (August 4) this summer in between his previously announced dates with the Bad Seeds. After fans get to watch the film, the press release promises "a rare solo piano performance," where Cave "will play a number of songs from his extensive catalog."
In addition to the new screening/show additions, screening events for 20,000 Days on Earth have been added in other U.S. cities, though minus an actual appearance from Cave. You'll find the updated schedule, which includes Bad Seeds stops in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, below.
As previously reported, Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard's film is presented as a series of vignettes leading up to Cave's 20,000th day, with parts of the film being inspired by unreleased lyrics and many of the scenes having been improvised.
