L.A.-based hip-hop veteran Murs has always been one to release interesting projects, and his next effort is no different. The Living Legend and acclaimed solo artist will follow up two albums in 2012 with a new 70-page comic book and accompanying soundtrack.
The story is called Yumiko: Curse of the Merch Girl and will combine Murs' love of the medium with his knowledge of the music industry. He appears as narrator in the story, discussing the temptations of the music industry.
Yumiko: Curse of the Merch Girl will be digitally released as a comic book and soundtrack when it hits iTunes on July 16. The soundtrack side of the project was produced entirely by DJ Foundation. According to Murs, it offers "heavy rock meeting traditional boom bap hip-hop with an electronic flair."
Check out lead single "Love" along with visuals from the book's first chapter below.
