Mount Eerie Collaborates with Julie Doiron and Fred Squire On New Album

Though it’s typically the songwriting moniker for Anacortes, WA fuzz pop connoisseur Phil Elverum since he retired the Microphones, the next Mount Eerie record has recently been announced and it’s more collaborative than ever. Written and recorded with guitarist Fred Squire and former Eric’s Trip/current solo sweetheart Julie Doiron, Lost Wisdom is the ten-song result of the trio’s collaboration in a small room in Anacortes.

According to the press release, "It's worth noting that this is a dream-come-true collaboration for Elverum. Julie Doiron has been his favourite singer since his teenage brain was exploded by the music of her legendary band Eric's Trip in the early '90s. They are basically the reason he is playing music at all. Now the full circle feeback loop quietly feeds back in these ten beautiful songs.”

Due October 7 on Elverum’s PW Elverum and Sun imprint, the record will follow the momentum of Mount Eerie’s Black Wooden Ceiling Opening, released earlier this year.
