The Men Go Acoustic for 'Campfire Songs' EP

BY Alex HudsonPublished Aug 27, 2013

The Men toned down the aggression this year on their album New Moon, and now their poised to mellow out even more by releasing an acoustic EP. Campfire Songs is out on October 15 through Sacred Bones.

The EP was recorded at the same time as New Moon, and as the title suggests, it was recorded outside, around the campfire.

The five-song collection includes acoustic versions of two cuts from New Moon ("I Saw Her Face" and "The Seeds"), plus a B-side ("Water Babies") and two new cuts ("Turn Your Color," "Patience"). According to a press release, the new songs "highlight this band's ability to be as gentle as they are commanding."

See the tracklist below. The new version of "The Seeds" is streaming at the bottom of this page.

The EP is available on 12-inch vinyl, which comes with a 12-page booklet of black and white photos by bassist Kevin Faulkner. It's available to pre-order here.
