Lucy Dacus Dismisses Matty Healy After Ableist Joke: "You Don't Hear from Me at All"

Who do you think you are? Who do you think I am?

Keeping Matty Healy away from social media is like trying to get rid of that ever-present bathroom mould in your literally-crumbling rental home that has been around for an uncertain amount of decades. All that's to say, it appears that the 1975's frontman has been using a burner Twitter/X account as an outlet for his edgiest thoughts and opinions — including a joke about boygenius.

"I told Lucy Dacus that 'Boygenius' had inspired me and [bandmate] George [Daniel] to start a new band called 'Girlr—,'" Healy seemingly wrote, making an extremely novel observation about the name of the supergroup comprising Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. How topical! He added, "I don't really hear from her that often."

UPDATE (9/21, 3:09 p.m.): Healy (or his impersonator) has seemingly deactivated his account on the social media platform. But don't worry, lots of people got screenshots!

Dacus is nothing if not a woman of conviction, having recently gone topless with Bridgers on stage in solidarity with Spanish women's rights protestors, called Barack Obama a war criminal, and dressed in drag to protest anti-LGBTQA2S+ legislation in Tennessee. Likewise, the relaxed performance champion wouldn't stand for Healy's casual, ableist use of the R-slur.

The singer-songwriter shared Healy's post, eviscerating him with a simple, mic-dropping, "You don't hear from me at all." I'll bet he doesn't.

Of course, this is not officially confirmed to be Healy's account — but if it's not, the person running it has gotten his whole "bit" (personality?) word-perfect.
