Pretty famously, Mick Jagger is a performer. He has been for quite some time now! The Rolling Stones frontman's knack for moving on stage has likewise long been memorialized by that tongue-in-cheek Maroon 5 song that was everywhere in the year of our lord 2011.
Jagger has now curated a playlist of the songs he listens to while keeping in shape for things like the band's upcoming North American tour behind last year's Hackney Diamonds for Apple Music, and some of his selections may surprise you. Namely, his choice to include the 1975's "Sex" from their 2013 self-titled album.
It feels like Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been America's sweethearts for ages, but remember that minute last year when Swift and the 1975's Matty Healy were (at least rumoured to be) dating? And when Healy said some pretty offensive stuff? Anyway, that's neither here nor there.
If you're uninitiated, the 1975's breakout track is indeed about sex. Fucking someone else's girlfriend in the back of a van, specifically. According to SongBPM.com, "Sex" is a "very emotional song," clocking in with a tempo of 148 BPM — a good tempo for running. Whatever starts you up, Jagger!
Other songs included on the singer's playlist include Prince & the Revolution's "Erotic City," Daft Punk's "Harder Better Faster Strong," Curtis Mayfield's "Move On Up," Burna Boy's "Common Person" and, of course, a handful of Stones tracks.
