Toronto's emerging punk quartet Shiv and the Carvers have released their debut EP, Physical Capital.
Along with the four-track record, the band have also released the music video for their track "Only Got One Body," featuring Anne Jane Marie of (sorta) defunct Toronto heavyweights Dilly Dally.
Physical Capital is explosive; it's a rowdy, boisterous and welcome introduction to Shiv and the Carvers. As staples of Toronto's punk scene, the band is made up of three former derby players and draws inspiration from the skate punk bands that came before them, like Sleater-Kinney, Fugazi and Green Day.
To celebrate the release of their debut EP, Shiv and the Carvers will be playing a release show at the Houndstooth in Toronto on October 14.
