Lil Uzi Vert has had a busy week. Not only have they reconnected with their bestie Nardwuar, the rapper also announced that their surprise record Pink Tape would arrive today (June 30). The winding 26-track project also just so happens to feature a cover of System of a Down's nu-metal classic, "Chop Suey!"
That's right! Uzi hid the scars to fade away the shake-up by naming the cover "CS" and tucking it away as the 17th track on Pink Tape. It starts with an Auto-Tuned howl of some new lyrics, before going into a relatively true-to-form rendition musically. Uzi's flair comes as they play around with the track's phrasing, notably not singing its climactic bridge. All things considered, it's pretty fun!
Hopefully, this doesn't mean that Uzi will get scared by people yelling "Wake up!" at them in public. Listen to the cover below.
