Just days ago, Lil Uzi Vert announced that their new album, The Pink Tape, will be coming out on Friday (June 30). What better way to make up for a surprise record's short rollout than adding a Nardwuar interview into the brief press cycle?
The Human Serviette caught up with Uzi backstage at the Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash in Bridgeview, IL, over the weekend, reuniting with the rapper for the first time in the five years since their 2018 interview. The fact that they ran away from the Nard twice was evidently a sign of deep respect, since Uzi ended up sampling the Canadian icon on "Futsal Shuffle 2020" — which Nardwuar obviously gifted them a 45 RPM recording of.
"Why did you sample me? I was curious," the Nard asked, to which the artist replied simply, "Because you're one of my best friends that I've met late in my life."
Somehow it only gets more wholesome from there, with Uzi even inviting Nardwuar to dinner. Doot doola doot d'aww!
