Linkin Park Announce New Album 'From Zero' with New Singer

Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara is on lead vocals, with Colin Brittain replacing co-founder Rob Bourdon on drums

Well, well, well — it looks like Orgy's Jay Gordon was right after all when he let it slip (and then promptly backtracked and denied) that Linkin Park were reuniting with a "girl singer": the nu metal band have announced a new album with a new vocalist (and a new drummer), as well as plans to take the new music and new lineup on a world tour.

After a long-winded lead-up with countdowns to several different forms of nothing (including but not limited to hints of Deryck Whibley), From Zero comes out on November 15 via Warner Music. It sees surviving members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix and Joe Hahn joined by Emily Armstrong of Los Angeles hard rock band Dead Sara on vocals, replacing Chester Bennington, as well as Colin Brittain behind the kit, replacing co-founding drummer Rob Bourdon.

"Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we're currently undertaking," Shinoda said in a statement. "Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead."

He continued, "The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we've made together. We're weaving together the sonic touchpoints we've been known for and still exploring new ones."
