Liam Gallagher Says Oasis "Piss All Over the Beatles"

Maybe a little more story, a little less morning glory?

Liam Gallagher has once again remembered his Twitter password long enough to tweet something polarizing to old rock heads everywhere: that his band is better than your faves.

His latest, claiming that "Oasis piss all over the Beatles," hit timelines on Sunday (May 22) during a Twitter spat the former bandleader instigated with former Liverpool player and British football commentator Jamie Carragher.

Despite watching his home team of Manchester City take home the prestigious Premier League trophy, the real match took place between Gallagher's Twitter fingers and the commentator — the former taking a jab at the latter via the social media platform.

"What you saying carra you [bell emoji] end," Gallagher tweeted, to the understanding of a select few fluent in his Twitter dialect.

Carragher replied: "I'm saying you'll never win the Champions league and Oasis are shite compared to the Beatles. That work??"

Gallagher closed the exchange by retorting: "Eh carra you got shit banter for a scouser fucking hell la you been hanging out with Neville too long," the musician wrote, characteristically sans-punctuation, adding that "Oasis piss all over the Beatles how many times did they do Knebworth," in reference to the venue where the Britpop outfit played two sold-out concerts in 1996.

Just last year, Oasis co-conspirator and sibling extraordinaire Noel Gallagher made a comment about the band's comparisons to the Beatles, size-wise (they're just wee lads!) and musically.

"[It's embarrassing] because we weren't as good as them," he said, adding: "[The Beatles have] definitely got the best tunes, hands down. In my record collection, they've got the greatest tunes by far."

No wonder they famously don't get along.

Other recent hits in the Liam Gallagher Twitter catalogue include the likewise football-related death threat he hopes you can forgive him for, as well as sharing his preference for "chaos and crisps" over law and order.
