LCD Soundsystem to Reissue "Losing My Edge" for Record Store Day

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 8, 2012

LCD Soundsystem seem to be sticking to their retirement plan, meaning that it's the perfect time for James Murphy and co. to revisit the single that started it all. This Record Store Day (April 21), the group will reissue their classic track "Losing My Edge" via Murphy's own DFA Records.

That's right -- LCD Soundsystem's unforgettable hipster send-up from 2002 will be back in print. For the first time, the twelve-inch vinyl record will be available in a picture sleeve, and that's the cover art above.

If you need a refresher, watch the music video for the track below, but note that this is the four-and-a-half-minute radio edit; the single will presumably contain the original version, which is almost eight minutes long. There's no word if there's an added B-side, remix or any such extra, but the original twelve-inch came with the track "Beat Connection."

Hey, James, while you're at it, why not give your documentary, Shut Up and Play the Hits, a DVD release?

UPDATE: You can now watch a new clip from Shut Up and Play the Hits at the bottom of the page.
