Former Guelphite Elizabeth Powell returned home with an airtight trio, impressing friends, family and new fans alike. The bands poppy punk was anchored by Powells stage presence an even mix of fragility and defiance. Genuinely pleased to be there, Land of Talk confidently blasted through "Speak to Me Bones, "Summer Special and other songs from their latest record, Applause Cheer Boo Hiss, pausing only to let Powells sharp sense of humour and self-effacing banter win over the appreciative crowd.
