K-os

K-os may have had something to prove to Halifax audiences ever since rumours of a disastrous show this past summer at the Antigonish-based Evolve festival came to town. He came out all intense, his guitarist bringing Eddie Van Halen chops combined with a heavy bass and drum attack giving the set a distinct and occasionally impressive Rage against the Machine vibe. It mellowed later on and crowds of twirling dancers left sweaty and spent, but there was the sense that the dark indulgences might not be the most comfortable fit given how different it was from what K-os brings on record.
