It seems that Canadian legend Joni Mitchell has had something of a medical crisis, as reports indicate that the 71-year-old was hospitalized after being found unconscious.
TMZ reports that the incident occurred around 2:30 this afternoon PDT in Los Angeles. It seems that she was in her home when the paramedics were called.
Apparently, Mitchell was alert while being rushed to the hospital, but she went into intensive care and so it appears that it's a fairly serious medical issue. Beyond that, nothing is known about why she was hospitalized.
Mitchell's team hasn't commented to the story.
Meanwhile, the singer hasn't been particularly active in recent years. She hasn't released an album of new material since 2007's Shine, although she did curate a compilation of her own love songs back in the fall.
