John Frusciante

'Letur-Lefr' (EP stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jul 4, 2012

John Frusciante's Letur-Lefr drops on July 17 through Record Collection Music, and now the full five-song EP has hit the web in advance of its official release.

The EP is a major departure for the former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist, as it is built largely out of sampled beats, glitchy synths and hip-hop vocals. And while this is hardly the first time Frusciante has ventured into electronic music in his solo work, it's hard to think of anything he's done that's quite so genre-crossing or wonderfully weird.
