Michelle Zauner is sharing a word about Oregon. The Japanese Breakfast mastermind has delivered a newly recorded cover of Sufjan Stevens' 2003 acoustic classic, "Romulus."

The cover of the Michigan standout was recorded at Electric Lady Studios for one of SiriusXMU's "Sessions" series. Zauner sings on the track, alongside piano and additional vocals from Gabby's World and violin from Molly Germer, as BrooklynVegan points out.

The resulting effort is a warm, lush take on the indie mainstay's original, the depths of which have only ever been paralleled by YouTube sensation and Stevens enthusiast Frank Watkinson.

Zauner's latest full-length record Jubilee was released back in March. She's taking the album on the road this fall with support from Palehound. Meanwhile, Stevens is a month away from dropping his collaborative album A Beginner's Mind with Asthmatic Kitty labelmate Angelo De Augustine.
