R&B android Janelle Monáe took a kid-friendly turn with her single "What Is Love" for the Rio 2 soundtrack, and she swung by NBC's Today Show to perform the cut live.
With a Brazilian flag hanging out of her back pocket, Monáe and her white-clad bandmates performed outside in the middle of New York City during the daytime. During the upbeat, Latin-flavoured song, the vocalist showcased some nifty footwork while her lavishly dressed backup dancers shimmied along and a few kids — plus a life-sized Rio 2 character — boogied side stage.
Rio 2 comes to theatres on April 11. Monáe has a small voice role in the flick.
