A couple weeks ago, Jack White called out the motley crew that is Joe Rogan, Guy Fieri, Mark Wahlberg and Mel Gibson over "disgusting" photos with former US president Donald Trump. When you're Jack White, this is something you'll still be experiencing reverberations from after a fortnight, with former congresswoman and current Fox News pundit Tulsi Gabbard tweeting a non sequitur about his commentary.

"Jack White recently expressed his disdain for anyone who 'normalizes' Trump," Gabbard wrote over the weekend, sounding every bit like a classic early-2010s attack ad targeting Justin Trudeau's hair. "In the meantime, what he wants us to do is normalize those in power abusing their power to go after political opponents, using the strong arm of the law as their goon squad."

Instead of responding directly, White commented on one of Gabbard's recent Instagram posts. "Hey everyone, Tulsi Gabbard here," the musician wrote. "I'm a democrat! No I'm not, but this time you should believe me. I'm endorsing Biden! No I'm not, but this time you should believe me. I'm telling the truth! No I'm not. But this time you should believe me."

He proceeded to post a screenshot of his comment on his Instagram, captioned, "Attention-seeking fake Tulsi Gabbard."

"Anybody who 'normalizes' or treats this disgusting fascist, racist, con man, disgusting piece of shit Trump with any level of respect is ALSO disgusting in my book," the singer-songwriter wrote previously of Trump and anyone associated with him, calling it a "statement" — "not a discussion/debate." White also slammed Elon Musk's "absolutely disgusting" Twitter reinstatement of the former president back in November.

For the record, the White Stripes were not named after the ones on the American flag.
