For the 24th straight year, Toronto-based showcase Honey Jam will shine a light on upcoming female artists from across Canada, and organizers have now revealed the lineup of performers for their 2019 edition.
Hosted by CBC's Amanda Parris, Honey Jam 2019 is set to take place August 22 at Toronto's Mod Club. The evening will bring together 20 artists selected from over 100 auditions, with performances said to cover an eclectic mix of pop, hip-hop, R&B, country, classical and gospel. Performers were selected by a panel of 15 judges from across the music industry.
Artists selected to perform at the 2019 edition of Honey Jam include Grace Marr, T.NA Smith, Hayley Verrall, Angela Nethersole, Aria Ohlsson, Divine Lightbody, Erez Zobary, Leigh Phillips, Denille Reeves, Sagèlee Archer, Riley Wheater, Aida, Jäjé, Kris Goslin, Rachel Cousins, Jess Leung, Nya, Melissa Kadas, Getchnah and the Launch's Saveria.
"The Honey Jam Concert has something for everyone, and we're also raising funds for a worthy cause: the YWCA programs for women and girls," producer Ebonnie Rowe said in a statement. "Stick around after the show for the afterparty, forget your troubles and dance the night away!"
Founded alongside PhemPhat Entertainment Group in 1995, Honey Jam was created with the aim of fostering growth, education and promotion of women in all aspects of the music business. Honey Jam alumni include Nelly Furtado, Jordan Alexander, Jully Black, Haviah Mighty, Tika, Melanie Fiona, Falana, Lu Kala, SATE, Kellylee Evans, Shi Wisdom, Anjulie and more.
