Following allegations of sexual misconduct, Hedley have been dropped by their management companies.
This morning, both the Feldman Agency and Watchdog Management announced their decision to cut ties with the band, effective immediately.
The agencies are the latest in a long line of business partners that have severed ties with Hedley. The band's Juno Awards appearance was cancelled earlier this week, while the WE charity (formerly Free the Children) and Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life both said they have no plans to work with Hedley in the future. Air Miles also cancelled a contest offering a prize of VIP tickets to see the band.
Hedley's upcoming tour dates remain scheduled according to the band's official website, though they recently banned press from attending tonight's show in Brandon, MB.
UPDATE (2/16, 12:25 p.m. EST): Tour opener Neon Dreams have now dropped off the trek with Hedley. Fellow opener Shawn Hook, however, has also released a statement saying he will remain on the tour. You can read both of their statements below.
As previously reported, fans took to Twitter earlier this week, using the hashtag #outHedley2k18 to share stories of shocking behaviour by the band, including acting inappropriately with fans as young as 14. Yesterday (February 15), it was revealed that the band were allegedly investigated in 2005 when an underage concertgoer was found drugged after a show in London, ON.
After the initial allegations, the band issued a statement, blaming their actions on "a lifestyle that incorporated certain rock and roll clichés."
UPDATE (2/16, 5:10 p.m. EST): It appears that Shawn Hook has had a change of heart. He has now tweeted that he will be leaving the Hedley tour.
