Now that Elon Musk's controversial SNL appearance is finally in the books, his partner and personal cheerleader Grimes has come forward with praise for his performance — and apologies for upsetting any Grimes fans in the process.
Last night (May 11), Grimes shared a photo of herself in her Princess Peach costume behind the scenes of Saturday Night Live, alongside the weekend's musical guest, Miley Cyrus. Explaining that she forgot to post pictures over the weekend, Grimes also casually revealed that she was hospitalized for a panic attack two days ago.
"I suppose it's a good time to start therapy," she began.
In a moment of self-awareness, the artist went on to boost Musk for his performance on the episode, while simultaneously apologizing to Grimes fans (who aren't exactly known for their love of the controversial billionaire).
She continued: "So grateful to the SNL team for being so kind and letting me sneak in as princess peach and so proud of my beautiful E (which I know will upset the grimes fans so I apologize in advance) but he killed it."
Leading up to Musk's performance, numerous SNL cast members including Bowen Yang, Aidy Bryant and Andrew Dismukes all responded to the casting choice, suggesting they were not pleased with having to share the stage with the Tesla CEO. Meanwhile, Grimes defended the father of her child against her own fans in a TikTok post leading up to the May 8 show.
