G-Eazy and Jeremih

"Saw It Coming"

As previously reported, the Ghostbusters reboot arrives next month, along with its very own star-studded soundtrack. Among those they called on to contribute to the paranormal proceedings are Oakland rapper G-Eazy and Chicago singer Jeremih, who connected for a new tune called "Saw It Coming."

The song possesses a thick, synth-slathered groove, with Young Gerald kicking off his intro verse with some bars about making it to the top, despite "being written off" by others. The mainstream, it would seem, never saw it coming. He goes on to rifle off lines about being the small-ball underdog who is now taking it all.

Jeremih affixes some spectral ad-libs in the background, but conjures up the spirit of Ray Parker Jr.'s original "Ghostbusters" theme with his winking "Tell me who you gonna call? / I bet you never saw it coming."

The rest of the soundtrack, which features the likes of Missy Elliott and Fall Out Boy, arrives July 15 through RCA Records. The film hits theatre screens the same day.
