Fur Trade have returned, as the duo of Steve Bays (Hot Hot Heat, Mounties) and Parker Bossley (The Gay Nineties) have announced their first album in a decade. Dark Celebration is out this fall through Light Organ Records, and the single "Signature Moves" is out today.

Dark Celebration is the follow-up to 2013's Don't Get Heavy. The band returned with the holiday single "Christmas in a Cage" last year, followed by the songs "Make It to the Morning" and "LOL Trash" this spring.

Since Don't Get Heavy, Bays and Bossley have continued to collaborate during sporadic sessions at their respective Vancouver studios, Bays's Tugboat Pl and Bossley's Jam Florist.

"Like many of the songs on this record, we wrote 'Signature Moves' between sunset and sunrise," said Bays in a statement about the lates single. "It encapsulates our misplaced FOMO and phantom nostalgia for NYC underground club culture in the early '80s. We had the film Paris Is Burning on loop in the background while writing and recording, and felt a connection with the dancers and designers at those wild drag balls. We're from a different world of course, but we still relate to that feeling of hiding in the cracks of a bubbling underground scene where you know will be understood and appreciated, while openly fantasizing of being superstars, and simultaneously sardonically paying homage to the surrounding gauche luxury culture of a city being rapidly gentrified."
