Foo Fighters

Live At Wembley Stadium

BY Dave SynyardPublished Dec 10, 2008

The Foo Fighters' first go at playing Wembley Stadium sold 165,00 tickets and packed it far better than any current England soccer team roster could dream of. This historic night was captured on DVD and depicts the band's great achievement. Realistically, you get a live performance but this two-hour journey is like sitting front row with stunning sound and visuals. As usual, Dave Grohl is constantly busy, encouraging the crowd to sing along by modestly inquiring if they know the words, because no one there possibly could, and the collective voice of Wembley is a whole other level of impressive. The set list is a great one, drawing from all their records except their self-titled debut, and includes favourites like "My Hero," "Monkey Wrench," "Everlong," "Learn To Fly," "All My Life" and "Times Like These," plus a whole lot more. However, there aren't any extras to engage serious fans. Couldn't they do interviews with the band about their biggest show to date? Still, Live At Wembley Stadium is the next best thing for any Foo fan that couldn't make it across the pond for this auspicious event.
