The Foo Fighters haven't performed live since Dave Grohl made his bombshell announcement that he had fathered a child outside of his marriage last September. Earlier this week, the band announced that they will make their grand return to the stage at the Singapore Grand Prix Festival on October 4 — but apparently drummer Josh Freese will not be joining them.
Freese has been performing with the Foos for the past two years following Taylor Hawkins's death in 2022, having first played live with the band during a series of star-studded tribute concerts. Today, the drummer took to Instagram to share that he had received a phone call on Monday (May 12) letting him know that the Foo Fighters had decided to "go in a different direction" with their drummer, claiming that no reason was given.
"In my 40 years of drumming professionally, I've never been let go from a band, so while [sic] I'm not angry — just a bit shocked and disappointed," Freese wrote, adding, "Stay tuned for my 'Top 10 possible reasons Josh got booted from the Foo Fighters' list."
