Fiver Cancels Western Canadian Tour

If you were looking forward to seeing Fiver (a.k.a. Toronto indie-roots artist Simone Schmidt) at Sled Island or on the rest of her previously scheduled Western Canadian tour, you're probably not going to like this. Citing "insurmountable personal problems," the project has pulled out of all of its commitments this month.

Both a press release and a message on Facebook today (June 19) confirm that all of Fiver's upcoming shows have been cancelled. This includes a pair of performances at this week's Sled Island in Calgary, as well as various other shows in BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan.

"So sorry to cancel the west coast tour. Insurmountable personal problems keeping us away," reads the Facebook post, though it caps with a somewhat positive, "But one day! Best of love to everyone."

Fiver's slot at Calgary's Local 510 today will be filled by Zen Mystery Fogg, while another previously planned Sled set at Wine-Ohs tomorrow will be filled by Maica Mia. You'll find a list of the rest of the cancelled dates down below.
