One of the more unlikely success stories in extreme music, Atlanta's Grammy Award winners and technical metal stoners Mastodon will be hitting the road on a 34-city North American co-headlining tour with, uh, fictional humour metal band Dethklok (of popular cartoon Metalocalypse). Support comes from underground hardcore heroes Converge and stoner/sludge titans High on Fire.
It's a damn good line-up and is noteworthy for a couple of reasons. It's cool to see Mastodon taking out excellent underground bands like Converge and High on Fire. And it's absurd to see a band that doesn't even really exist (Dethklok) headlining over a band like Converge, who have been going at it hard for years.
Regardless, we have a sneaking suspicion it's going to be killer set of shows. And while you can find full tour dates here, the Canuck dates are below.
