Following this year's LABYRINTHITIS, Destroyer has shared a new song. "Somnambulist Blues," featuring Sandro Perri, is out through Mexican Summer's Looking Glass series.
The sprawling, six-minute track features Bejar singing abstract lines over an organ drone, with the track also featuring snippets of upright bass and abstract sound effects.
Destroyer mastermind Dan Bejar said in a statement, "There is something about the landscape Sandro lays out – it's a world in which things become imminently singable. A lotta room to roam, and all of it good. Somehow I always find the pulse, even in a Hammond/ocarina drone." The words were mostly improvised.
