Filling in last minute for L.A. producer Madlib, Dâm-Funk (a.k.a. Damon Riddick) understood there were shoes to fill and wasted little time bringing the energy right up for the closing set on Thursday night. Soul, funk and hip-hop permeated the speakers as Riddick leaned heavily on his EQs in a formidable display of the classic art form. After priming the crowd with a few vintage instrumentals, Dâm-Funk took the stage front and centre with exceptional solo vocal performances supported by distinctly West Coast flavoured beats.

Sensing the response from the room, Riddick climbed the stage, elevating his presence over the packed venue floor, repeatedly calling on the audience's participation and lauding his brand of modern funk. It was a light, fun and interactive set that melted the challenging context of a contemporary music festival from the conscious.
